Mechanistic insights into the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to CO on Ni(salphen) complexes

نویسندگان

چکیده

Ni(salphen) reduces CO 2 to via a double reduction/protonation mechanism, and the active species binds CO, only releasing stoichiometric amounts of upon exposure air. This has been confirmed in both experimental computational studies.

Mechanistic insights into electrochemical reduction of CO2 over Ag using density functional theory and transport models.

Electrochemical reduction of CO2 using renewable sources of electrical energy holds promise for converting CO2 to fuels and chemicals. Since this process is complex and involves a large number of species and physical phenomena, a comprehensive understanding of the factors controlling product distribution is required. While the most plausible reaction pathway is usually identified from quantum-c...

Mechanistic insights into hydride transfer for catalytic hydrogenation of CO(2) with cobalt complexes.

The catalytic hydrogenation of CO2 to formate by Co(dmpe)2H can proceed via direct hydride transfer or via CO2 coordination to Co followed by reductive elimination of formate. The different nature of the rate-determining step in the two mechanisms may provide new insights into designing catalysts with improved performance.

Emerging Mechanistic Insights into AAA Complexes Regulating Proteasomal Degradation

The 26S proteasome is an integral element of the ubiquitin-proteasome system(UPS) and, as such, responsible for regulated degradation of proteins in eukaryotic cells. It consists of the core particle, which catalyzes the proteolysis of substrates into small peptides, and the regulatory particle, which ensures specificity for a broad range of substrates. The heart of the regulatory particle is an ...

Theoretical insights into the adsorption behavior of CO molecules on the pure and Vn-doped BN nanotubes

Interaction of pure and Vn-doped (8, 0), (12, 0) and (16, 0) boron nitride nanotubes with CO molecules was studied using B3LYP/6-311++G(d) theoretical level. Substituting V instead of B atoms, increased the reactivity of nanotube. From the results, the complex stability depends on the direction and the number of the CO molecules interacted with the nanotube. In this work, the quantum...
